The GOTS Certificate
Ecological and social standards:
Since 2011 we have been honored to recieve the most demanding eco-certificate in the textile industry - yearly. The Globad Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is leading the worldwide standards for the production of textiles originating in ecologically farmed natural fibres. GOTS defines the demands along the whole production line: flax-fields, harvesting, yarn-production, weaving, finishing and sewing. Furthermore, the certificate requires fulfilling many social criteria, for example: fair payment, no discrimination, legal at-work-times, a safe and clean work environment, as well as social responsibility.
The observance of these criteria are checked by an independent institution yearly.
IVN Best
International Association of natural textile industries.
Our weavery, as a factory, is IVN-Best (Internationaler Verband der Naturtextilwirtschaft) certified. Our products themselves are just GOTS-certified though, at max, as our suppliers only meet GOTS-, but not IVN-standards. IVN-Best is a social management label, which defines the work- and social conditions of a company. Of course, it also demands certain ecological criteria.
Thinking about our environment.
Special consideration is given to the ecological effect of our production, as well as to the durability and sustainability of our products.
Every Vieböck-textile is woven in our factory-building in Helfenberg. Our product palette only offers textiles, which were designed, woven and sewn in our own walls. The raw materials (flax and yarn) is from Europe (mostly France, Belgium and the Netherlands). The finishing touches of our fabrics are carried out mechanically and without any damaging chemicals in Lower Austria.
Vieböck-fabrics are turned into hometextiles, but also clothes. Our seamstresses are able to make bedding, tablecloth, curtains, kitchen- and bath-towels, as well as much, much more!
